Metallographic structure
GH4169 alloy is an austenitic structure. The γ” phase generated after precipitation hardening gives it excellent mechanical properties. The δ phase generated at the grain boundary during heat treatment gives it the best plasticity.
Corrosion resistance
Inconel718 alloy has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting in both high and low temperature environments. Inconel718 alloy is particularly resistant to oxidation at high temperatures. [1]
