Materials & Specifications
Hastelloy G30 is a nickel-based alloy with a high chromium content of more than 30%. Due to the composite effect of its components, it exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in a variety of corrosive media. Hastelloy G30 also is widely used in pickling equipment manufacturing and other chemical processing applications due to its good thermal stability and excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion.
Relationship between application areas and component content:
The chemical composition of Hastelloy G30 is precisely designed to provide optimal performance in extremely corrosive environments. The specific content of each element ensures the reliability and durability of the alloy in its application scenarios.
Chromium (Cr)
The chromium content is 28.5-31.5%, which is a vital element in Hastelloy G30 alloy. The high chromium content greatly improves the oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance of the alloy, making it perform well in acidic media containing oxidizing impurities such as fluorine and chlorine. The presence of chromium also enables the alloy to effectively resist intergranular corrosion after welding, which makes Hastelloy G30 particularly suitable for wet phosphoric acid production, pickling equipment and other chemical processes involving strong acids.
Nickel (Ni)
Nickel is a matrix element, and the balance is mainly nickel, which provides the alloy with excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. The high content of nickel ensures that Hastelloy G30 has good stability in a variety of corrosive environments, especially in strong acid environments containing oxidizing impurities, and the nickel-based structure enhances the overall corrosion resistance of the material.
